Nothing much to report in this first entry, except we made it out of town Wednesday! Aimed for a 3 PM departure (following the last night's farewell partying), got going around 6 PM. Rush hour traffic was surprisingly light, and we got as far as Hazleton PA on I-80, where we found a Comfort Inn. There was plenty of room for a third person between us in the king-sized bed.
11 AM, we've got to get going to make it to Madison WI by Friday morning to pick up a check so we have gas money for the trip.

It's too bad you don't have that little blonde kid with you too. But then he's not a kid anymore. Maybe someday he'll take the trip with his boys.
